The BTL Guatemala project took take place in July 2011. Working with local Mayan communities the workshops taught storytelling and documentary filmmaking skills creating a sustainable programme so the Mayan people can now continue to represent themselves and their local news through short factual films. This website will be the portal for their films to be shown so other communities from across Guatemala and World can engage with the stories they tell. This site also documents the teaching process, so that other practitioners and organisations can see the benefits of running empowering projects and letting communities tell stories from behind their lens.
